BJ's Brewhouse

Tonight we went out as a family and had dinner at BJ's Brewhouse.
We've wanted to take our boy there for some time to try the Gluten Free Pizza!
He loved it. Gobbled down about 4 pieces. Then we got a Gluten Free Pizookie, too.

I loved both the things our son got. I always try it myself, because if I wouldn't eat it, I wouldn't expect HIM to eat it. (Believe me, there have been things that have NOT passed the mommy test.)

Just to entice you to go and try it--- I've got some pictures from BJ's of the things we ate... (of course my son's pizza was pepperoni, and light on cheese.)

As a mother of 3 and with a busy schedule, it's hard to come up with meals, even harder with dietary restrictions!! Our son was the reason we are gluten free, he's got an intolerance to gluten that we discovered after he was diagnosed Autistic (He's no longer on the Autism spectrum, after love and hard work). We changed his diet after reading up on some research and instantly we saw a change. We don't know how extreme his intolerance is, we've wanted to get him tested for Celiac's, but we aren't willing to put him through eating those things for a test, so we just go by our gut--- or rather, his gut! All our kids are also lactose intolerant, so there's not much dairy either. We try to avoid canned soups, mixes and boxed food. We try to make the best of what we can- within our budget. I love to try to cook foods that feel like comfort food, but are actually healthy! We like to take recipes we love, and change them to be gluten free. I like to try to inspire others who deal with gluten allergies and intolerances to eat better, and feel better eating!

I'm 29 years old and mother of three boys. Four years ago our family underwent a complete dietary overhaul. We stopped eating processed foods, stopped using our microwave and cut out meat and most dairy (although I give in to the occasional ice cream!). We eat 99% organic, as local as possible, and plant based. Almost a year ago I was diagnosed with a wheat sensitivity and so we made a change again by going gluten free. I love to cook, so learning to change my lifestyle and eating habits has been an incredibly fun adventure and my family has adapted to every change along the way. I love big flavors, ethnic dishes, and lots of veggies!
